About Me

My name is Nick, I live in North Dorset and have worked in horticulture tending gardens for the last 30 years.

I started off my gardening career studying at Pershore college on a year long residential course and there I obtained a national certificate in amenity horticulture.

I then started my own business and have been running it ever since.

I am a keen hedge-layer and spend much of my time in the autumn and winter months laying hedges.

I am also a registered member of the National Hedge Laying Society and the Gardeners Guild.

What I Do

  • Garden Maintenance (regular or seasonal)

  • Pruning (Shrubs, Roses, Wisterias, fruit trees, small trees) and training

  • Planting (hedges, shrubs , herbaceous borders, eco) - all plants can be supplied

  • Hedge-laying, Native hedges, Woodland planting, Coppicing, Mowing, Strimming, Brush cutting.

I own and supply all of my own tools and machinery to undertake all tasks.

Hedge-Laying.

If you have a neglected hedge in need if attention it may be best to lay it.

Laying helps to rejuvenate the hedge by generating new growth from the base of the laid stems there after creating a good thick hedge again.

A laid-hedge is also very pleasing to the eye creating a living fence.

It is also very beneficial to wildlife creation a good habitat for small birds and mammals. Hedgerows are the wildlife corridors of the countryside!
